The SVG Europe Sports Broadcasting Fund is a sister organisation to the SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund which partnered with the Alma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, to launch the industry’s first charity fund dedicated to providing assistance to industry professionals and their families in need.

“The sports-television industry is a family of talent, creatives, techs, and crew who depend on each other in the studio and the field and now, with the SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund Europe, at home,” said Ken Aagaard, SVG Sports Broadcasting Fund and SVG Europe Sports Broadcasting Advisory Board chairman. “In a business underpinned by a freelance workforce, it is especially important that we develop a process for helping out our peers and their families when they are struck by serious misfortune.”

The SVG Europe Sports Broadcasting Fund was created in 2018 in order to help those in our industry who find themselves unable to work or suffering financial loss from a devastating event like a fire, flood, or other event. The goal of the Fund is to provide financial assistance via payment of bills and other expenses on behalf of the applicant.

Founded in 2006, the Sports Video Group (SVG) is an international association for sports-television professionals with the mission to advance the creation, production, and distribution of sports content. SVG Europe (SVGE) was founded in 2012 to serve the European sports broadcasting industry.
